Hyvä theme development builds your Magento storefront on Hyvä, a frontend that uses Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js instead of Luma’s heavy JavaScript stack. Since November 10, 2025 the core Hyvä Theme is free and open source, which makes it a strong default for new Adobe Commerce storefronts.

Is Hyvä free?

The Hyvä Theme itself has been free and open source (OSL 3.0 / AFL 3.0) since November 10, 2025. Some add-ons, such as Hyvä UI and Hyvä Checkout, are still paid. Check hyva.io for current terms.

Will my extensions work with Hyvä?

Extensions that output frontend code need a Hyvä compatibility module. Many popular vendors provide one; for the rest we build or adapt it.

Does moving to Hyvä change my URLs?

Normally not. Hyvä changes the frontend, not the catalog or URL structure, so rankings carry over.
