How long is a Magento 2.4.x release supported?
Adobe gives each 2.4.x release line three years of standard support from its general availability date. Some older lines also have extended support or a security-only period with isolated security fixes.
When does Magento 2.4.6 support end?
Standard support for 2.4.6 ended on August 11, 2026. Extended support ends on August 31, 2027, and a security-only period with isolated security fixes ends on May 31, 2028.

Adobe lists PHP 8.5, MySQL 8.4 or MariaDB 12.3, OpenSearch 3, Valkey 9, RabbitMQ 4.3, Varnish 8, nginx 1.30 and Composer 2.10 for 2.4.9.
Can I upgrade straight from 2.4.6 to 2.4.9?
Many stores move in two steps, through 2.4.8, so the PHP and database changes can be tested separately. The right path depends on your extensions and server.
